Being exposed to the intricacies of texturing and colour that comprise the North American hair scene was a real eye-opener for Haddy. Quite a departure from what she grew up with in Africa, where styling usually involves intricate weaves as opposed to cutting.
As Jagoda’s assistant, she spends her days dashing between washes, head massages, colours foils and blow dries, and her remarkable time management skills help her do it all with a smile on her face. She loves colour formulations and aspiring to the technical proficiency needed to keep up in a busy, successful salon.
For Haddy, there is no such thing as a day off. When she’s not lighting up the faces of clients with her sunny disposition, she’s at home studying the styles and techniques of hair professionals online.
